Komodo Dragons

Visiting the Komodo National Park was an amazing experience. We landed on Komodo Island to walk among the Komodo Dragons, really fearsome reptiles. It was early morning and, fortunately, they were rather torpid, having not warmed up yet. We got really close to them. Later in the day we went to Rinca Island where there were dragons had warmed up and were on the beach looking for a meal, but we did not land. Apparently, they can eat about 80% of their body weight in a single meal. Their bites are often fatal to humans. There are said to be about 1,000 dragons on Komodo Island, and similar numbers on Rinca and Flores.
